The American designer Tommy Hilfiger and Venezuelan Angel Sanchez will be the stars of the next Mercedes-Benz Fashion Mexico, where local designers will share their creations for autumn / winter 2010.
The sixth edition of the event, scheduled from 12 to 16 April, will include about 30 parades.
The image of the official poster will be for the first time a couple, composed of the Brazilian model Junior Ferreira and Mexican Mariana Bayon, winner of reality show “Mexico’s Next Top Model,” organizers said in a press conference in which they gave details of the event.
Hilfiger, designer emblematic of American fashion industry, visit the Aztec nation to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its entry into the Mexican market. It will bring autumn-winter proposals presented in February at the Fashion Week in New York.
The creator will use his visit to Mexico to add talent to your company, give a seminar for local designers who will address topics such as the implications of being a designer and operation of the various departments of your company.
At the end, three will be chosen by Hilfiger to join their team in New York and work in one of the areas that integrate the company announced Beatrix Streets, director of the event.
For his part, Sanchez, one of the designers’ favorite Latino celebrities, will launch “by Angel Sanchez Sanchez,” a new younger character line to be added to the exquisite gowns that have adorned the likes of Taylor Swift and Meryl Streep .
Stars like the actresses Eva Longoria-Parker and the newly Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock have chosen the creations of Venezuela to reach the altar.
Another surprise of the event created in 2007 will be a tribute to the deceased Alexander McQueen in charge of the Mexican Gianfranco Reni, who worked as an intern for the British designer for 8 months. Reni will remember him through “My Army”, a collection inspired by military uniforms from different eras.
